Abstract

Senior High School 4 Pekanbaru is one of the schools that used School Based Curriculum in teaching and learning process. In School Based Curriculum, students are expected to master 4 skills of English which require them to memorize many vocabularies. After doing the observation, the researcher found some problems, such as; some of the students were still lack of vocabulary which difficult them to understand about English Subject, but they like to watch English movie, they encounter new vocabulary through watching English movie. The purpose of this research was to find out students’ habit in watching English movie, to find out students’ vocabulary Enrichment, and to find out whether there was a correlation between students’ habit in watching English movie and their vocabulary Enrichment. The researcher used questionnaire to find out students’ habit in watching English movie and used test to find out students’ vocabulary enrichment. In analyzing the data, the researcher used pearson product moment correlation coefficient SPSS 16.0. The result was sig. = 0.002 ≤ α (0.05). So, the conclusion was there was a correlation between students’ habit in watching English movie and their vocabulary enrichment.
