Abstract

This research was aimed at obtaining the proportion (frequency and the percentage) of each type errors that the students commit on their writing spoof text. In addition, the researcher also wanted to investigate the most common errors that the students commit on their writing spoof text. The researcher formulated the problems into two research questions, 1)What are the proportion (frequency and the percentage) of each type errors based on Surface Strategy Taxonomy? 2) Which error is the most serious made by students at the twelfth grade of senior high school 1 Tambang. Therefore, the objectives of this research were to find empirical evidence of students’ grammatical errors at the twelfth grade of State Junior High School 1 Tambang,. This study was a descriptive research. The subject of this research was the twelfth grade students of State Senior High School 1 Tambang, while the object of this research was the students’ grammatical errors in writing spoof text. The researcher used purposive sampling technique to take the sample, there were 25 students as sample from 203 students. To collect the data, the researcher used test. The test was conducted to find out grammatical errors that students made in writing spoof text. Based on data analysis, the researcher found that types of errors that students made in writing spoof text. The total amounts of errors made by students were 292 errors. The percentage of students’ error omission in writing recount text was 23%, addition 12%, misordering 1%, and misformation 64%. And the most grammatical errors made by the students was misformation was 64%. Keywords: Error, Writing, Spoof Text.
