Abstract

This research is a correlation research that goals to recognized whether there is a significant correlation between students’ Listening Comprehension and Their English Pronunciation at Islamic Senior High School Imam Asy Syafii 2 Pekanbaru. The subject of this research is students at SMA IT Imam Asy Syafii 2 Pekanbaru and the object is correlation between students’ Listening Comprehension and Their English Pronunciation. Where, the population of this research is the elevent grade students. In this research writer take a class as a sample, which consist of 30 students. Technique that used in this research is cluster sampling. In collecting data, the research used two tests. Both were Listening Comprehension Test and English Pronunciation Test. The formulas used to analized the data gathered from respondentswere output SPSS 20.0 version and Pearson Product Moment. Based on the research findings, The students Listening Comprehension were in Very good category. It was based on the result of the test given. Dealing with the students’ classification score. It can be proved from mean of students’ Listening Comprehension Score that was 64,16, categorized as Very Good level. On the other hand the means score of students Students English Pronunciation was 67,00 categorized in level 3, which are most of the students have problem necessitate concentrated listening and occasionally lead to misunderstanding. The data analysis based on Pearson correlation is concluded that the coefficient effect significant both of variable X and variable Y is 19,27 % which p was 0.15. It means that (p<0,05)=(0.15<0,05). it indicated that there is significant correlation between students’ Listening Comprehension and Their English Pronunciation at Islamic Senior High School Imam Asy Syafii 2 Pekanbaru.
