Abstract

The purpose of this research was to find out the significant influence of creative thinking on students’ speaking and writing abilities at the second-year students of MTs Al-Fajar Pekanbaru. It was carried out by using a Correlation Research Design. The subject of the research was the eighth-grade students, and three classes were involved, namely VIII A, VIII B and VIII C; in which each class consisted of twenty students. Tests and questionnaire were used in the process of data collection. In analyzing the data, statistical analyses included MANOVA (Multivariate Analysis of Variance) tests. Finally, it was found that there was a significant influence of creative thinking on students’ speaking and writing ability at the second-year students MTs Al-Fajar Pekanbaru. It was proven that F by Pillae Trace, Wilks’ Lambda, Hotelling’s Trace, and Roy’s Largest Root had a p value of 0.000 which was less than 0.05.
