Abstract

This study refers to investigate the effectiveness of use the Lyricstraining website in enhancing students' listening skills among eighth-grade students at Islamic Junior High School Al-Fatah Minas. A pre-experimental design with one group pre-test and post-test was employed. The participants consisted of 30 students from class VIII Aisyah. Data were collected through listening tests administered before and after the use of the Lyricstraining website. The results revealed a significant improvement in students’ listening comprehension, with the average score increasing from 60.67 in the pre-test to 98.67 in the post-test. The normalized gain score was calculated at 0.95, indicating a high level of effectiveness. The findings suggest that the integration of Lyricstraining, which utilizes engaging and interactive song-based activities, can enhance students’ listening ability and motivation in learning English. Therefore, it is recommended that English teachers incorporate digital media like Lyricstraining to support listening instruction in EFL classrooms.
