Abstract

The objective of the research were for the explanation of the potential development of swamp buffalo husbandry in Kuok District, Kampar Regency, Riau. The objectives were to acses the carrying capacity of the swamp buffalo based on the natural recources as well as human recources, analyzing of the farmer revenue and the efficiency of the farming, and for the studying the potential of the human resources for the development of the swamp buffalo husbandry for the district (kuok District), Kampar Regency, Riau. The acsessed parameters were the family resources, the capacity of the natural resources of the distrisct for the swamp buffalo husbandry, and analyzing the income of the farmer. All data have been analysed descriptively and presented in averages and ersentage by using Elburdah Formulation. The resultof the study indicated that the human potention were 10.443,5 for each animal, and the potention based on natural resources were 10.719,45 for each animal, and based on income of the farmer were 1.039.279.09/month based on the analysis B/C ratio 1,9. The result of the study indicated thet Kuok District were good enough for the development of swamp buffalo husbandry. Key words :Potention, Development, Swamp Buffalo.
