Abstract
This research was conducted based on the problems faced by the students in learning English especially in Vocabulary Mastery. Based on the interviewing the English teacher in this school, it was found that some of the students’ are not able to identify the meaning of words in the text, difficult to remember the meaning of the words, unable to identify unfamiliar words, and difficulties in understanding the forms of word or vocabulary such as noun, verb, adjective, and adverb.so that this research aimed at finding out the use of Pictionary Game for students’ Vocabulary mastery at State Junior High School 1 Rambah Hilir. This research was a quasi-experimental research. Therefore, this research used two classes; control class and experimental class. The subject of the research was the seventh grade students of State Junior High School 1 Rambah Hilir. The object of this research was Pictionary Game and their Vocabulary Mastery. The sample of this research used cluster random sampling. There were 50 students as sample from 77 students. To analyze the data, the researcher used independent sample ttest by using SPSS 22 version and effect size formula by Julie Pallant. Based on the data analysis, the researcher found that the result of effect size formula was 0.25. It was categorized into large effect. It means that there was a significant effect of using Pictionary Game for students’ Vocabulary mastery at State Junior High School 1 Rambah Hilir.
