Abstract

This research deals with students’ error in their English writing. The aim of this research was to investigate the most common error found on the students’ writing performance at MAN 1 Pekanbaru. Overall population of the research was 291 students, and by simple random sampling method, the researcher makes 30 of them as a sample. This research is conducted using quantitative descriptive method and using error analysis to analysing the data. The data of the research were collected by using test. The test was about the description things. The result of test shows that the incorrect verb is the common error interference made by the students in their English writing, which is 20%. It concluded that the students of MAN 1 Pekanbaru made error because they were still confuse about the difference uses of verb in each tense. Kata Kunci: Students Error, Grammar, Writing
