The research had 3 formulations of the problems; how is students’ reading comprehension taught by using Facts, Questions, responses (FQR) strategy, how is students’ reading comprehension taught without using Facts, Questions, responses (FQR) strategy and whether or not there is any significant effect of using Facts, Questions, Responses (FQR) strategy toward reading comprehension of the first year students at State Senior High School 12 Pekanbaru. The objective of the research was to find out whether students’ reading comprehension taught by using Facts, Questions, Responses (FQR) strategy was higher than students taught without using Facts, Questions, Responses (FQR) strategy and to find out whether or not there is any significant effect of using Facts, Questions, Response (FQR) strategy toward Reading Comprehension of the First Year Students at State Senior High School 12 Pekanbaru. In this research, the research design was quasi-experimental. The writer used pre-post-test design and took two classes as sample; one class was an experimental group and one class was a control group. Each class or group consisted of 37 students. Before giving treatment, both of groups were given pretest and post-test after that. Only experimental group was treated by using Facts, Questions, Responses (FQR) strategy. The technique of collecting data was the test. The technique of data analysis used Independent Sample T-test formula, SPSS I6 Version. Based on the data analysis, the writer concluded that students’ reading comprehension taught by using Facts, Questions, Responses (FQR) strategy is higher than students’ taught without using Facts, Questions, Responses (FQR) strategy. It can be seen through score from pre-test to post-test of control group increaced 5.41 and score from pre-test to post-test of experimental group increaced 13.95. And, there is any significant effect of using Facts, Questions, Response (FQR) strategy toward Reading Comprehension of the First Year Students at State Senior High School 12 Pekanbaru. It can be seen that tobtained is bigger than ttable with df=72. In to= 5.454 is bigger than tt= 2.00 (at level 5%) and tt= 2.65 (at level 1%); 2.00 ≤ 5.454 ≥ 2.65. It means that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected
