Abstract

The purposes of the reseaerch are to find out students’ speaking ability taught by using Crazy Story Game, students’ speaking ability of those taught without using Crazy Story Game and to find out whether there is a significant effect of using Crazy Story Game on students’ ability in speaking at the eleventh grade students of Vocational high School Pharmacy Ikasari Pekanbaru. This research had two variables using Crazy Story Game as an independent variable and students’ speaking ability as a dependent variable. The type of research was a Quasi-experimental research. The subject of this research was the eleventh grade students at Vocational High School Pharmacy Ikasari Pekanbaru. The researcher took two classes: experimental and control class. There were 60 students as sample from 263 eleventh grade students at Vocational High School Pharmacy Ikasari Pekanbaru. In collecting the data, the researcher used observation and oral resentation test. In analyzing the data, the researcher used an independent t-test formula by using SPSS 17 version. The result of data analysis showed that there was a positive effect of using Crazy Story Game on students’ Speaking ability, in which the t-obtained had higher value than the t table either at 5% or 1% significance levels (2.00 15.035 2.65).
