Abstract

�ased on the researcher's preliminary study, the researcher found that 3 ; 1,1S�� of the students were still getting difficulties on reading comprehension and ( ll))CCDD _ ::::::,, . ;;;; � �some of the students did not reach the standard minimum of passing grade of a- �· <flreading recount text. So, the writer was interested in carrying out the research � § about this problem. The purpose of this research was to know the significant "' ::, OJ :; � �d2Terence between individual and partner reading on students' reading :1) - - '° g iJ:gp,prehension in recount text. 'El· � o �: The design of this research was a comparative research. The subject of the :::, -, ... - @" � le;earch was the second grade students of State Junior High School I Tapung � � ,HUlu and the object of the research was the difference between individual and CD C :::, ::::, . � � pap:ner reading on students' reading comprehension m recount text. Meanwhile, <:::. � �6 design of the research was a comparative research. Thus, the population of the ::,::- Q) -· ::::, � - !e�carch was I 75 students that consisted of five classes and the sample of this ; res.earch was Vlll.C and Vlll.D (70 students) In collecting the data, the ::, � !:.Ctcarcher used test in the form of multiple choice. In analyzing the data, the .., a. ressarcher used Independent Sample t-Test by using SPSS software 23.0 version. "' � .; After analyzing the data, the researcher found that Sig. (2-tailed) value was 0.008 which is lower than 0.05, it means that the probabihues are <0.05, thus, '< - ,:::. �ul1 hypothesis (H0) was rejected, while the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was {g acc.epted. In other words, there is a significant difference between individual and -g pjlrlner reading on students' reading comprehension in recount text at State Junior � ftigll School I Tapung Hulu.
