Abstract

This Research aims to know whether there is significant difference between male and female students self efficacy in speaking performance at State Senior High School Islamic Centre Al-Hidayah Kampar. There are 115 students af the tenth grade students as population that are devided into 3 classes, the writer took 15 male students and 15 female students as sample that are taken randomly. After doing preliminary study by interviewing the English teacher, the writer found problem on students speaking skill, the writer found out that some of students do not believe about their ability in speaking, shy and afraid to do speaking performance. The design of this research is comparative research by using questionnaire consist of 16 question as its instrument. In analyzing the data, independent sample t-test techniqueis used to measure the difference of students’ self-efficacy in speaking performance mean secore between male and female students. Based on the research finding, it was found that probability leve = 0.579 >0.05. That is concluded that Ho was accepted and Ha was rejected means there is no significant difference between male and female students self efficacy in speaking performance at State Senor High School Islamic Centre alHidayah Kampar where female students self-efficacy in sepaking performance higher than male students.
