Abstract

This research was conducted based on the problem in English learning especially in learning listening and speaking. The objectives of this research were to find out there was a significant correlation between listening comprehension and speaking abilities of students at SMP Islam Al-Azhar 37 Pekanbaru. The design of this research was correlational study research. The population of this research was the secondgrade students of SMP Islam Al-Azhar 37 Pekanbaru. The total number of populations were 20 students. The researcher took the sample by using total sampling. To analyze the data the researcher using IBM SPSS Statistics program. From the analysis of the data researcher found that there was a significant correlation between listening comprehension and speaking ability of students at SMP Islam Al-Azhar 37 Pekanbaru.
