Abstract

This research was motivated by the limited use of learning media, especially technology media based in chemistry learning. This research aimed at knowing 1) comic media design in assisting Pixton android based on nomenclature of chemical compounds material, 2) validity and practicality levels of comic media products in assisting Pixton android based on nomenclature of chemical compounds material. It was a research and development (R&D) with Borg and Gall development model which includes stages: 1) need analysis, 2) planning, 3) product development, 4) product initial trial, and 5) product initial revision. This research was conducted at XI MIPA1 grade students of Senior High School of Taruna Mandiri Pekanbaru. Questionnaire of validity and practicality tests and interview were used for collecting the data. The validity test by media and material experts obtained that 89.33% was in very valid category. The practicality test by the chemistry teacher obtained that 85.625% was in the very practical category. Students’ responses test obtained that 89.04% was in very pract ical category. Therefore, it could be concluded that comic media in assisting Pixton android based on nomenclature of chemical compounds material was valid, practical and proper to be used in learning.
