Abstract

Fathiyah Al Mustaqimah, (2021) : Teachers’ Preparation of Teaching Listening Class: A Qualitative Study at SMA 5 Bagan Sinembah Rokan Hilir The purpose of this research was to explore the implementation of teachers‟ preparation. Furthermore the writer also wanted to investigate assessing method use by the teacher in teaching the listening class. The research focuses on the eleventh grade students because it taken based on the 9th material on the syllabus which is the only special listening class. There is 1 11th grade english teacher in SMA 5 Bagan Sinembah, it causes the writer could not select another teacher as the interviewee. In collecting the data, interview not only did to the teacher but also 2 students of 11th grade as the triangulations. The interview used one-on-one interview by phone because the pandemic situation made the school forbid face to face interview. However, the result and analysis of the interviews found that the teacher did a unique method of online teaching during the pandemic via zoom and google classroom. The teacher used constructivism in managing the class by letting students to construct the knowledge by real experience. Teacher also used both formative and summative in assessing students.
