Abstract
This research aimed to morphologically identify the local durian cultivar based on its leaf morphology. Six cultivars from sub-district of Kerumutan, Pelalawan Regency, namely Sangkeang, Hijau, Jatung, Gontam, Tembaga and Daun were used in this study. Sixteen quantitative and five qualitative parameters were analyzed. The result showed that leaf-length and leaf-width ratios provided powerful discrimination criteria to differentiate all cultivars. Mean values of the ratios on Sangkeang, Hijau, Jatung, Gontam, Tembaga and Daun were 2,95c±0,20; 2,87d±0,19, 3,07b±0,20, 3,29a±0,39, 2,80e±0,21 and 2,72f±0,18, respectively. The dendogram of similarity index displayed that the cultivars were divided into three groups, in which the first and second groups comprised of Tembaga, and Hijau respectively, whereas, the last group consisted of Sangkeang, Gontam, Jantung and Daun
