Abstract

Tgk Kursu Badani : Implementation and development of international school curricula at SMKN 1 Sand Turtle (Tesis Program Pascasarjana UIN Suska-Riau, 2013) The purpose of this study was to describe the reasons and grounds used in setting the direction of the development of international school curriculum. To describe the implementation and development of international school curricula at SMKN 1 Sand Turtle which includes planning, organizing, leadership and supervision, and the factors supporting and inhibiting as well as the solution. Expected results of this study as one of the donation of thought to the concept and implementation of curriculum development at the institution Vocational School (SMK) in general and to the institution concerned. Sources of data in this study is the school committee, school principals and deputy principals curriculum coordinators, teachers in the study, documentation, and the literature relating to the implementation and development of international standard school curriculum. While the methods used in this research is descriptive method with qualitative approach. Techniques of data using interviews, observation and documentation. While the data analysis presented in the form of words instead of numbers refers to the process of data reduction, display the data and drawing conclusions. In this study concluded that 1) the implementation and development of international school curriculum related to curriculum planning is based on unit level curriculum lessons (SBI) with a vocational curriculum design. Organizing is done by involving the entire school. Leadership is based on the function of leadership, motivation, ideas, initiative, innovation and management function to describe the tasks according to the capacity component of the school organization. Supervision is done through the function of supervising and evaluating the performance of each component of the school organization. 2) The factors supporting the implementation and curriculum development is a competitive spirit to excel, both teachers and students, staff development, the smooth component of the mechanism of action of a professional institution and on target. Inhibiting factors such as availability of learning support facilities are still not so frequent mismatch between the syllabus with learning activities / training carried out.
