Abstract

This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey design. The sample of this study was class X 2 students selected using purposive sampling, with a total of 33 respondents. Research data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results of the analysis show that the overall score for the role of group work strategy is 4.02, which is in the high category. These findings indicate that students have a positive perception of the application of group work strategy in the English classroom, which is considered to be able to help students organize their learning tasks, facilitate understanding of the material, increase motivation and creativity, and improve learning outcomes through collaborative activities. Based on these research results, it can be concluded that the group work strategy plays an important role in supporting the English learning process in the classroom, so this strategy is recommended to continue to be applied and developed as an effective learning strategy in improving the quality of English learning at SMAN 1 Sungai Apit.
