Abstract

This research was conducted based on the problem faced by students in writing, especially in descriptive text. Therefore, this research was aimed to find out the significant effect in writing descriptive text between students taught and without taught by using mind mapping technique at MTs PP Darul Quran Kampar. This method of this research was quantitative method. The researcher used a quasiexperimental design. The population in this research were grade VIII students a number of 2 classes consisted of 49 students of Mts PP Darul Quran Kampar and 49 students as a samples chosen by using total sampling. This reserch was conducted on February-May 2025 at MTs PP Darul Quran Kampar. In the data collection, the researcher used pre-test was given to both group before the treatment and post-test was given after treatment. In analyzing the data, the researcher used independent T-test by using SPSS 23. Based on the research result, Ha accepted because the sig. value was 0,000<0,05. The results of the analysis data showed that there was a significant effect of mind mapping technique in writing descriptive text at MTs PP Darul Quran Kampar.
