Abstract

ABSTRACT WILDA SUCI ELFIRA (2021): The Influence of Teacher Praise on Students’ English Learning Motivation at Senior High School 1 Kuantan Hilir The purpose of this study is to find out the influence of teacher praise on students’ English learning motivation at Senior High School 1 Kuantan Hilir. This research is correlational reserach. The population of the research was 11th grade students’ of Senior High School 1 Kuantan Hilir contains 4 (fourth) classes of science with total 120 students’ and the sample were 30 students’ taken using simple random sampling. In collecting the data, the researcher used two questionnaires to measure teacher praise and students’ English learning motivation with different content. The researcher used Pearson product moment correlation coefficient through SPSS 23.00 to analyze the data. The result of this research showed that sig (2-tailed) value was 0.06. It can be stated that 0.06 < 0.05. It means that null hypothesis (H0) was rejected while the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. The value of correlation coefficient (r) was 0.486. In conclusion, there is a significant influence of teacher praise on students’ English learning motivation at Senior High School 1 Kuantan Hilir.
