Abstract

Based on the writer’s preliminary study in MTs Masmur Pekanbaru, the students was still low in writing Narrative paragraph. The problems are: Some of the students were not able to write narrative paragraph based on the generic structures of narative paragraph corectly, students were unable to write the main idea in narrative paragraph correctly, students were unable to use chronological order in writing narrative paragraph, students still had mistake in using verbs in writing narrative paragraph. The objectives of the research were to find out the students’ writing ability on narrative paragraph taught by using Blender Method higher than taught without using blender method at the second year of MTs Masmur Pekanabru, and to find out whether there was a significant effect of using blender method toward students’ writing ability on narrative paragraphat the second year of MTs Masmur Pekanbaru. The type of the research was Quasi-experimental. The subject of this research was the second year of MTs Masmur Pekanbaru. The object of this research was the use of Blender Method and students’ writing ability on narrative paragraph at the second year of MTs Masmur Pekanbaru. Population of this research was all of the second grade students. The total number of population was 60 students. Because the number of population was not large, the writer used total sampling by taking two classes for sample. Each class consisted of 30 students, class VIII.1 students as experimental class and class VIII.2 as control class. The total number of the sample was 60 students After analyzing the data, the writer found that there was a significant effect of students’ writing ability on narrative paragraph taught by using Blender Method. Thus, the tobtained is higher than the ttable : 2.00 ≤ 14.57 ≥ 2.65. It means that Ha is accepted and Ho rejected. Therefore, the writer concluded that students’ writing ability on narrative paragraph taught by using Blender method was better than students’ writing ability on narrative paragraph taught without using Blender method.
