Abstract
Protection and husbandry of Kuantan cattle was an action that should be done to prevent the threat of extinction, it was needed the increased productivity to take that action. Increasing the Indonesian local cow productivity could be done through improving the aspects of husbandry management, feed, and genetics. This research aimed at knowing the varieties of quantitative performance though measuring chest size,shoulder height, body length, hip height, scrotum circumference,and hip width of adult cow based on feather color in Kelayang District, Indragiri Hulu Regency. This research was conducted by using Survey method and direct measuring in the field. Simple random sampling technique was used in this research. The research findings showed that the difference of feather color affected morphometrics size of male and female Kuantan cow in the age group of 1.5-2.5 years, and the difference also affected chest size,shoulder height, body length, hip height, scrotum circumference,and hip widthin the age group of >2.5 years. Kuantan cow had bright fur (white and brownishwhite), better morphometrics size than dark (cloudy brown, blackish brown, reddish brown)Kuantan cow. Preserving and herding bright Kuantan cow in Kelayang District, Indragiri Hulu Regency should be more prioritized that the dark one because the bright one had better morphometrics to be grown.Keywords: Kuantan Cow, Chest Size, Shoulder Height, Body Length, Hip Height, Scrotum Circumference, Hip Width
