Abstract

The main focus of this research is to investigate whether there is a significant difference between male and female students’ ability in writing spoof text at the state senior high school 1 BatangGansal- Inhu Regency. This research had two variables, gender (Male and Female) students as an independent variable and writing ability of spoof text as a dependent variable.This research is a causal comparative research.The population of this research was the Eleventh grade students of State Senior High School 1 BatangGansalInhu Regency. The researcher selected16 students from each group (Male and Female) from the population as the sample by used simple random sampling. There was 32 students as sample out of 118 students. In collecting the data, the writer used writing test. In analysing the data, the writer usedIndepent Sample T-test formulacalculatedby using SPSS 20.0 version. Based on the analysis of data, writing ability of male students are categorized into sufficient less level, while writing ability of female students are categorized into enough level. Then, the analysis of Independent Sample T-tes Formula, the result showed that the sig.(2-tailed)is 0.001 lower than 0.05 (0.001< 0.05).Hence, it means that Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted. Based on the research findings, it can be conclude that there is significant difference of Male and Female students on Writing Ability of Spoof Text at the Eleventh Grade of State Senior High School 1 BatangGansalInhu Regency.
