Abstract

Based on the preliminary research, it was found that the eleventh grade of MA Darul Qur’an Tarai Bangun get difficulties in reading aloud and reading comprehension. It can be seen some of students were poor in reading aloud ability and also poor in reading comprehension. The aimed of the research is to find out the relationship students’ reading aloud ability and their reading comprehension of theeleventh grade of MA Darul Qur’an Tarai Bangun. The design of this research is correlational research design. The population and sample of this research was the eleventh grade of MA Darul Qur’an Tarai Bangun. The number of sample is selected by using total sampling technique. To get the data, the research gave reading aloud test and multiple choice test, and analyzed the data by using person product moment calculated by SPSS 16.0 program. After analyzing the data, the result of sig.t.0.001 is smaller than 0.05 (sig≤0.05). It could be stated that Ha (alternative hypothesis) is accepted. In other words, there is a significant correlation between students’ reading aloud ability and their reading comprehension of the eleventh grade of MA Darul Qur’an Tarai Bangun.
