Abstract

ABSTRACT Misdarifah Riafnur RF, (2022): “The Use of Collaborative Writing Technique in Developing Students’ Writing Skills at MAN 1 Pekanbaru”. The objectives of this research were to describe the use of collaborative writing technique in developing students’ writing skills and explain students’ attitudes toward teacher’s use of collaborative writing technique at MAN 1 Pekanbaru. This study was conducted under the qualitative case study design. Purposeful sampling technique was used to select the participants of this study. The participants of this research were sixty four students from four classes in the second grade of senior high school and an English teacher. The data were collected from the observation, questionnaire, interview and documentation. The data were analyzed and interpreted by qualitative data analysis. The research findings were (1) from the seven guidelines, the English teacher just missed two guidelines from of collaborative writing technique. (2) it found that students’ gave the positive responses among three components of attitudes toward teacher’s used of collaborative writing technique in developing students’ writing skills.
