Abstract

This research aimed to find out whether there was a significant effect of using Pre Task Planning Strategy on students’ descriptive writing performance at State Islamic Junior High School 5 Bengkalis. It was carried out in the design of pre experimental research. The sample of this research was the seventh grade at State Islamic Junior High School 5 Bengkalis. In collecting the data the researcher used writing test, whereas for analyzing the data the reseacher used the Paired Sample T-Test formula through SPSS 17. The Reseacher found that score of Sig. (2-tailed) was 0.000 < 0.05. It means that null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected, while the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. It can be concluded Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. In conclusion, teaching writing after using pre task planning strategy at the seventh grade of at MTsN 5 Bengkalis is better than before using pre task planning strategy.
