Abstract

ABSTRACT M Ridho Saputra, (2020) : The Language Error Analysis of Dhomir Use in Writing of the Seventh Semester Students in the Academic Year 2020 at Arabic Education Department of Education and Teacher Training Faculty of State Islamic University of Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau It was a qualitative research. This research aimed at knowing syntaxis errors of student writing in the Academic Year 2020 at Arabic Education Department of Education and Teacher Training Faculty of State Islamic University of Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau. The seventh-semester students of Arabic Education Department were the population of this research, and there were 128 students. Because the population was big, 25% of the population were selected as the samples, and they were 32 students. The language errors analyzed in this research were dhomir munfashil, dhomir muttashil, and dhomir mustatir. The techniques of collecting data were official document and interview. Syntaxis errors were analyzed through 4 steps—identifying, classifying, improving, and explaining the errors. The research findings showed that there were 114 language errors (syntaxis) in writing of the seventh semester students at Arabic Education Department—there were 9 errors in dhomir munfashil use (7,89%), 57 errors in dhomir muttashil use (50%), and 48 errors in dhomir mustatir use (42,10%). The most common writing error was in dhomir muttashil use, there were 57 errors (50%). The fewest writing error was in dhomir munfashil use, there were 9 errors (7,89%). The factors causing errors of student writing were 1. the low of Qowaid mastery, 2. less reading and repeating Qowaid lessons, 3. lack of reading Arabic dictionaries (to see how to write words correctly), 4. lack of focus in writing, 5. being not accustomed to apply Qowaid in writing, 6. lack of lecturer attention to the circumstances and abilities of students, and 7. the limited time provided for writing so that students could not think optimally.
