Abstract

This research is entitled “The Effect of Using I-Search Procedure Method toward Students’ Ability in Writing Analytical Exposition Paragraph at Senior High School of Muhammadiyah Bangkinang Kampar Regency”. The research has 3 formulations of the problems that how students’ ability in writing analytical exposition paragraph before being taught by using I-Search Procedure Method is, how students’ ability in writing analytical exposition paragraph after being taught by using I-Search Procedure Method is, and whether there is a significant effect of using I-Search Procedure Method toward ability in writing analytical exposition paragraph at Senior High School of Muhammadiyah Bangkinang Kampar Regency. The objective of the research was to find out the students’ ability in writing analytical exposition paragraph taught without using I-Search Procedure Method, to find out the students’ ability in writing analytical exposition paragraph taught by using I-Search Procedure Method and to find out whether there is a significant effect of using I-Search Procedure Method toward students’ ability in writing analytical exposition paragraph. The type of research used was a quasi experimental research. The researcher took two groups pretest-posttest design. The technique of collecting data was the test. The test was used in order to find out the students’ ability in writing analytical exposition paragraph at Senior High School of Muhammadiyah Bangkinang Kampar Regency. The technique of data analysis was independent t-test and paired sample t-test. It was eased by using SPSS 17 version program. Based on the data analysis, The researcher has concluded that there is a significant effect of using I-Search Procedure Method toward students’ ability in writing analytical exposition paragraph of At Senior High School of Muhammadiyah Bangkinang Kampar Regency. It was considered from tobtained =(5.532 that higher than t-table either at significance level of 5%=2.01 nor 1%=2.68): 2.01 ≤ 5.532 ≥ 2.68. It means that Ha was accepted and Ho was rejected.
