Abstract

ABSTRACT Sri Rahayu, (2020): The Correlation between Librarians’ Work Motivation and Their Job Satisfaction at Library of State Islamic University of Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau It was a correlational research studying about the correlation between two variables— librarians’ work motivation (X) and their job satisfaction (Y) at Library of State Islamic University of Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau. This research aimed at knowing the correlation coefficient between librarians’ work motivation and their job satisfaction. All librarians at Library of State Islamic University of Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau that were 32 persons were the population of this research. Total sampling was used in this research, so 32 librarians were the samples. Questionnaire and documentation were the techniques of collecting the data. The obtained data were analyzed by using Product Moment correlation. The score of robserved 0.631 was higher than rtable 0.3388 at 5% significant level (0,631>0.3388), and the calculation result of the determination coefficient (R Square) was 0.398. It showed that the correlation between librarians’ work motivation and their job satisfaction was 39.8%, and the rest 60.2% (100%-39.8%) was influenced by other variables that were not mentioned in this research. Based on the data analysis, there was a correlation between librarians’ work motivation and their job satisfaction at Library of State Islamic University of Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau, and the score of correlation coefficient was 0.631. In other words, the higher librarians’ work motivation was, the higher their job satisfaction at Library of State Islamic University of Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau would be. So, to increase their job satisfaction, aspects related to their work motivation should be considered. Keywords: Correlation, Work Motivation, Librarian Job Satisfaction
