Abstract
This research was aimed to find out the difference between using and without using OK4R (Overview, Key Ideas, Read, Recall, Reflect, Review) Method on a students’ reading comprehension of narrative text. The design of this research was quasi experimental design. The population and sample was the eleventh grade students at State Senior High School 1 Kundur Karimun Regency. The number of sample was selected by using cluster random sampling technique. To get the data, the researcher gave pre-test and post-test then, analyzed the data by using independent sample T-test. After analyzing the data, the result of T-test was 6.528. Then, compared tobtained with ttable from df=70 that shows at significance level of 5%, 2.00 and at level of 1%, it shows 2.65. It can be said that 2.00<6.528>2.65. It means that tobtained > ttable, Ha is accepted. In other words, there is a significant difference of the students’ reading comprehension of narrative text between those who are taught by using OK4R method and taught without using OK4R method of the eleventh grade students at State Senior High School 1 Kundur Karimun Regency.
