Abstract

Based on the researcher’s preliminary observation, the students at the SMA Negeri 1 Kampar got some of the phenomena in their self regulation. It can be seen when the students have to comprehend the text that teacher gave, but they did not conduct any change about that. The aim of the research was to find out the correlation between students’ self regulation and their reading comprehension of the tenth grade at SMA N 1 Kampar. This research was correlational design. The population and sample of this research was the tenth grade students of at SMA N 1 Kampar. There were 32 samples which were selected by using proportional stratified random sampling. In collecting the data, the researcher used questionnaire and reading comprehension test, and analyzed the data by using pearson product moment on SPSS 21 program. After analyzing the data, the result of sig.t.0.000 was smaller than 0.05 (sig≤0.05). It could be stated that Ha (alternative hypothesis) was accepted. In other words, there was a significant correlation between students’ self regulation and their reading comprehension at the tenth grade of SMA N 1 Kampar.
