Abstract
This research is motivated by the low fifth year students’ mastery on vocabularies at elementary school Muhammadiyah Simpang Kubu district of Kampar the regency of Kampar, where the teachers has implemented speech method during English language teaching and resulted that 45,45% of students do not achieve scores specified. The formulation of this research is whether pictures increases fifth year students’ mastery on vocabularies at elementary school Muhammadiyah Simpang Kubu district of Kampar the regency of Kampar. In order that this research runs well without any barriers, the writer has arranged some steps namely, 1) the planning of action, 2) the implementation of action, 3) observation, 4) and reflection. This research was done at elementary school Muhammadiyah SImpang Kubu district of Kampar the regency of Kampar among fifth year students about 22 persons. In collecting the data, the writer uses, observation and test techniques. And the data which have been collected are analyzed by using simple descriptive. Based on data analysis the writer concluded that the implementation of picture has improved. The average improving of students’ mastery before an action is 22,73% while from the first cycle to the second cycle is 18,18%. And the total improvement obtained before an action to the second cycle is 40,91%.
