Abstract

Written Corrective Feedback (WCF) is an essential component of English writing, and it aims to helping students minimize errors and increase their writing ability. This research aimed at finding out students' perception of written corrective feedback (WCF) in Writing Assignment provided by teacher at Senior High School 1 Tebing Tinggi Barat. Quantitative descriptive design was used in this research, and the respondents were 47 eleventh-grade students selected with total sampling technique. Collecting data was conducted with questionnaire consisting of 16 statements examining several aspects of student perception of WCF. The research findings showed that the majority of students had very positive perception of WCF with the perception mean score of 4.17 (83.48%), indicating that WCF was considered very helpful in increasing their writing ability and English grammar comprehension. This research recommended that teachers should continue to optimize the provision of WCF that was specific and in line with student needs to increase the effectiveness of writing learning process.
