Abstract

This research aims to determine the impact of using direct methods on students’ English Speaking Skills at MA Plus Keterampilan Hasanah Pekanbaru. This research uses a pre-experimental design, namely one group pre-test and posttest with a quantitative approach. The sample of this research was 20 students of second grade with a simple random sampling technique from a population of 60 students. Data Collection was carried out with a speaking test to measure students abilities before and after the test. The results of data analysis using the Paired Sample T-test. The results of the analysis for the student's speaking test were 0.889 with sig.000. The conclusion is that there is an impact given by using direct methods on the English speaking skill of second grade students at MA Plus Keterampilan Hasanah Pekanbaru.
