Abstract

This research aims to investigate students’ perceptions of the use of Google Translate in the Paragraph Writing course at the English Education Department of UIN Suska Riau. The researcher used a quantitative method and collected data through a questionnaire distributed to 36 second-semester students who had taken the Paragraph Writing course. The questionnaire was based on the theory of perception proposed by Walgito (1990), which includes three aspects: Absorption, Understanding, and Evaluation. The findings showed that the mean score was 67.86. This indicates that, students’ perceptions of using Google Translate in the Paragraph Writing course fall into the positive category.
