Abstract
Putri Faizi Rahmi (2025): The Roles of Geography Subject Teachers in Student Conservation Character at State Senior High School 7 Pekanbaru This research aimed at finding out the roles of Geography subject teachers in instilling conservation character education to students at State Senior High School 7 Pekanbaru, as well as identifying factors supporting and obstructing its implementation. Conservation character education is a process of forming attitudes of caring and being responsible for the environment, which are very important to be instilled in the younger generation from an early age. Qualitative method was used in this research with case study approach. The techniques of collecting data were interview, observation, and documentation of Geography subject teachers and students as the main informants. The research findings showed that Geography subject teachers acted as role models, inspirators, motivators, agents of change, and evaluators in forming student conservation character. Teacher efforts were made through integrating Geography material with conservation values such as energy saving, waste management, and greening the school environment. The supporting factors for the success of conservation character education were support from the school, teacher understanding of environmental issues, and student involvement in programs such as Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project. Meanwhile, the obstructing factors found were lack of student awareness, bad habits that had not changed, and limited environmental facilities and infrastructure.
