Abstract
This research aims to examine the effect of using Realia on students' motivation in writing descriptive texts. The study employed a pre-experimental design with a sample of 30 tenth-grade students from SMA IT Fadilah Pekanbaru, selected using convenience sampling. The instrument used in this study was a questionnaire consisting of 25 items, adapted from the Motivation in Writing Questionnaire (AMWQ). The findings revealed a significant improvement in students' motivation after the application of Realia, as indicated by a Wilcoxon Signed-Ranks Test, with all participants showing higher post-test scores. The pre-test and post-test results were analyzed using SPSS 23, confirming the statistical significance of the intervention. Result of the research inconclusion demonstrate that the use of Realia is an effective method to enhance students' motivation in writing descriptive texts
