Abstract

ABSTRACT The title of this research is feeling lonely and its solution in Al-Qur'an (a thematic study). Feeling lonely is one of the mental attacks experienced by someone when they feel neglected and alienated. This research aimed at identifying several elements of feelings of loneliness and their solutions as explained in Al-Qur'an through a thematic study. Loneliness is a subjective emotional condition, and it is often ignored, but it has a significant impact on an individual's mental and physical health. This study referred to several verses of Al-Qur'an, such as Surah Adh- Dhuha (3) and Surah Al-Anbiya (89), as well as the views of commentators to explain this phenomenon and offer solutions through a religious and psychological approach. The research findings showed that Al-Qur'an provides guidance for overcoming loneliness through strengthening the relationship with Allah Almighty, reciting Al-Qur'an, remembering Allah Almighty, being patient, thinking positively, being grateful, and implementing self-compassion (doing good to oneself). Loneliness, although painful, can be interpreted as a test strengthening faith. By understanding the concept of loneliness and its solutions in Al-Qur'an, this research is expected to be a reference for individuals and academics in developing a spiritual approach to deal with emotional challenges.
