Abstract

ABSTRACT Ikhwanul Arif (2024): “English Teacher Readiness in Implementing the Merdeka Curriculum at MTsN 3 Pekanbaru” This study aims to find out English teacher readiness in terms of cognitive readiness in implementing the Merdeka curriculum, English teacher readiness in terms of physical readiness in implementing the Merdeka curriculum, English teacher readiness in terms of psychological readiness in implementing the Merdeka curriculum, and English teacher readiness in terms of financial readiness in implementing the Merdeka curriculum. This study was conducted using a qualitative approach. The participants of this research were two English teachers from class VII, the head of Madrasah Tsanawiyah, the deputy of curriculum, the deputy of facilities and infrastructure, and some students at MTsN 3 Pekanbaru. The data were collected from observation, interviews, and documents. The findings of the study showed that 1) Cognitive teacher readiness: the the class VII English teachers understood the policies, concepts, and structure of the Merdeka curriculum. 2) Physical teacher readiness: the the class VII English teachers had good physical readiness to implement the Merdeka curriculum. 3) Psychological teacher readiness: the the class VII English teachers had good psychological readiness based on their interest and motivation in implementing the Merdeka curriculum. 4) Financial teacher readiness: the level of financial teacher readiness was good, where the school has prepared quite complete facilities and infrastructure and is in well-maintained or good condition so that it can be used to support teacher readiness in implementing the Merdeka curriculum.
