Abstract

The increasing need for computer networks is very rapid. The majority of offices and educational institutions depend on computer networks for communication, administration and facilities to carry out their duties. UIN Suska Riau is an educational institution that implements a LAN computer network. However, there are several buildings that do not have a LAN network, namely the INTEGRATED LAB Building. The number of potential users in the building reaches 300, therefore a reliable and efficient network is needed to support teaching and learning activities. In this research, LAN network design and quality of service analysis were carried out with throughput, packet loss, delay and jitter parameters according to TIPHON standards. The QoS calculation results in this study were categorized as good with an index of 3.75 according to TIPHON standards. Keywords : LAN, QoS, throughput, packet loss, delay, jitter
