Abstract

APPLICATION OF BIOMIMICRY CONCEPT WITH THE LAYOUT LEAF PARK LIBRARY AT SUNGAI RAWA VILLAGE, SIAK DISTRICT KURNIA ILAHI PUTRI 11850220462 Industrial Engineering Study Program Faculty of Science and Technology Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau State Islamic University Soebrantas Street Km. 15 No. 155 Pekanbaru ABSTRACT The library is one of the media or means to increase knowledge and the ability to read in order to educate human life. The problems that occur in the Sungai Rawa Village library are caused by the narrow condition of the library reading room so that the seating distance between readers is too close together, the condition of the reading room and the color of the library building is less attractive, the available facilities are inadequate for use, and the lack of greenery in the environment library. The purpose of this research is to design a library reading garden in Sungai Rawa Village using the concept of biomimicry, which is comfortable and energy-friendly. The method used in this study is the concept of architectural biomimicry in the layout design of the reading garden of the Sungai Rawa Village library, which is comfortable and energy-friendly by adopting fiber patterns and leaf shapes. In this study, it can be concluded that the application of the concept of architectural biomimicry by making use of energy sources that exist in nature, such as solar energy that is produced, namely electricity, is an environmentally friendly energy utilization, so developments in this biomimicry concept can be an innovation in the field of architecture that keeps up with the times in the era of globalization with the potential of its natural ecosystems.
