Abstract

ABSTRACT Ratimaya Nadia Frima, (2023): Students’ digital literacy and their motivation to read narrative text at Islamic Junior High School Al-Hafit Pekanbaru The purpose of this research were to find out to what extent students' digital literacy and their motivation to read narrative text and what kinds of motivation toward digital text in learning reading at Islamic Junior High School Al-Hafit Pekanbaru. This research was qualitative research used to answer the research about the students' digital literacy and their motivation to read narrative text at Islamic Junior High School Al-Hafit Pekanbaru. of the 165 student population consisted of 5 classes, researchers only need 33 students as a sample the subject of the study were 8.1 class completing the research. The researcher were observation, interview and questionnaire with the theory of relevance is about motivation to read in digital literacy. Based on the result, it was found that mean percentage of students' digital literacy and their motivation to read narrative text got 27,27% with 9 students in medium level. Meanwhile, some of them got 86,85% with 21 students in high level, and 9,09 with 3 students in low level. Based on the result, it could be concluded that there is a significance correltaion of students' digital literacy and their motivation to read narrative text
