Abstract

ABSTRACT Alfi Hasanah, (2023): Exploring the Implementation of Autonomous Learning through the Use of ICT in Learning English. This research were aimed to explain how is the implementation of autonomous learning through the use of ICT in learning English at SMK Perpajakan Riau and to explain what are the factors influencing the implementation of autonomous learning through the use of ICT in learning English at the SMK Perpajakan Riau. This research used qualitative research approach with a case study research design. The participants of this research were 29 students of tenth grade students at SMK Perpajakan Riau. Purposive sampling was used to determine the sample of the research. In collecting the data, the researcher used observation, interview, and documentation. Finally the result showed that, the implementation has occurred systematically from the teacher and students. The implementation of autonomous learning through the use of ICT applied by the teacher was suitable with the characteristics of autonomous learning and some related literatures. The students also followed the process very well. The influencing factors of the autonomous learning based on the implementation come from the learners, the teacher, the task and the environment. In conclusion, the teacher and students implementation of autonomous learning through the use of ICT showed the suitability of the process and the characteristics.
