Abstract

ABSTRACT Widya Nur Afiati (2023) : A Comparative Study Between Male and Female Students’ Reading Comprehension in Descriptive Text at the Second Grade Students of Senior High School 12 Pekanbaru The purpose of this research is to examine whether there is any significant difference between male and female students’ reading comprehension in Descriptive Text at the Second grade of students of Senior High School 12 Pekanbaru. This research approach was a quantitative method with comparative design. There were 60 students as the sample of the research. In collecting the data, the researcher distributed the test to the respondents to measure the students’ reading comprehension which consist of 25 items with multiple choice design. The researcher used independent sample t-test as technique of data Analysis to found the comparison between male and female students’ reading comprehension by using SPSS 25 version. The result of this research showed that sig. (2-tailed) was 0.00 (0.00<0.05). It means Ha was accepted and Ho was rejected. In conclusion, there was any significant difference between male and female students’ reading comprehension in Descriptive Text at the Second grade students of Senior High School 12 Pekanbaru
