Abstract

ABSTRACT Adinda Asrini S, (2022): The Effect of Vocabulary Mastery to Student Arabic Reading Skill at XI Grade of State Islamic Senior High School Sibolga Teaching is a process of reciprocal activities between teachers and students in a certain way and to achieve certain goals. In other words, teaching goals can be conducted well if interactions between teachers and students are good. Vocabulary teaching is a teaching containing all elements in Arabic language teaching, because vocabulary plays a very important role in Arabic grammar by mastering vocabulary, it will make it easy for someone to improve language skills such as listening, speaking, reading and writing at XI grade of State Islamic Senior High School Sibolga. And how was the effect of vocabulary mastery to Arabic reading skill at XI grade of State Islamic Senior High School Sibolga. This research aimed at knowing how the students’ vocabulary mastery and Arabic reading skill were, and the effect of vocabulary mastery to Arabic reading skill at 11 grade of State Islamic Senior High School Sibolga. It was a field research. Quantitative analysis with correlation product moment to know the correlation between vocabulary mastery and students’ Arabic reading skill, and linier regression to know the level of vocabulary mastery and students’ Arabic reading skill were used for analyzing the data. The results of this research obtained that students’ vocabulary mastery = 76 and Arabic reading skill = 78.95. Therefore, there was a significant positive correlation between vocabulary mastery (X variable) and Arabic reading skill (Y variable). It was proven by tobserved = 8.3061, and ttable of N value= 40 in significant 5% =2.021. It could be concluded that the higher students’ vocabulary mastery level was, the higher students’ Arabic reading skill was at State Islamic Senior High School Sibolga.
