Abstract

Based on researcher’s preliminary observation at MAN 1 Pekanbaru, the researcher found that classroom climate was very good. It can be seen from seating arrangements, procedures and regulations, and managing transitions. Unfortunately, some of students did not achieve the passing grade (KKM). According the problem above, the researcher was interested in to find the correlation between classroom climate and students’ achievement at this school. According to the problem above, the purpose of this research was to find the correlation between classroom climate and students’ achievement at MAN 1 Pekanbaru.This research was conducted on June 6th 2014. In this research, there were two variables, Classroom climate as variable X (Independent variable) and Students’ achievement in learning English as variable Y (dependent variable). To take sample, the researcher used Simple Cluster Sampling to choose two classes as the sample. The fisrt sample was XI 3 Social and second sample was XI 5 Social. The first class as try out class, and the second as real class. To get English achievement, the researcher distributed the Likert Scale among two samples. The researcher also used the Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient and SPSS to analyze the data. In conclusion, Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. It means that there was a significant correlation between classroom climate and students’ achievement at MAN 1 Pekanbaru.
