Abstract
This thesistitled: "SHIDDIQMEANINGINTHE QUR'ANBYBUYA HAMKA ". As forthe background ofthisresearchis manypeoplewho interpretthemeaningshiddiqhonestbutoverallnot knowwhatthe meaningofthe wordSiddiq. Siddiqsaidthatrepeatedthree timesin the Qur'ancontained inSurah Maryam(19) verses41and56, SurahYusuf(12) Paragraph46danvariousderivativesaresurahan-Nisa'(4) Paragraph69, SurahalHadid(57) Clause 19, surah Al-Maidah(5) Paragraph75. Researchers use research literature / Bibliographic Research with approaches such as the following steps, first determine the type of research conducted, collect the necessary data both primary and secondary, classifying the data, reading, quoting and discussing, analyzing past data tematik. From approach that , this research wants to answer how meaning shiddiq in the Qur'an and its interpretation according to commentators. The results showedthat thewordshiddîqisshigahmubalaghah(formwordsdenotingveryormore), alpreachers fish-shidq'people areveryhonestorveryright'in the sense thatunderliesspeech, beliefs, anddeedson the basis ofvaluesthe correct valuebased on theteachings of Islam. Shiddiqisaprimarytraitthatshould be ownedbythe prophetsandapostles, and for peoplewhoare in thepathof Allah. thenature ofthisSiddiq, Allah praisesthe ProphetIbrahim, Yusuf andIdris. This was reflected inthewords of GodinSuraYusufverse46, Maryamverse41, Maryam56.Sedangkanversein Surat an-Nisa'verse 69andverse19of alHadidthere isvirtue forthosewhoobey AllahandHis Messenger, andin this paragraphare divided into fourgroups:the prophets, shiddîqin, martyrs' and theRighteous. whereasin surahal-Maidahverse75reflects the natureshiddîqahforMarywhichbecamethe highestplace, the secondaftertheProphet'sdignity.
