Abstract

ABSTRACT Name : Nabil Makarim Firdaus Major : Communication Science Title : The Competence of Production Director Ashiil TV in Improving The Quality of Tahsin Al-Qur’an Program. Ashiil TV as one of the Da’wah television media in Pekanbaru broadcasts Da'wah television programs under the teachings in the Qur'an and hadith. One of these programs is Tahsin Al - Qur'an. In a television production process, of course, the production director's ability to direct the program is needed and is expected to be able to improve the quality of the broadcast program. Of course, competency with good standards is needed so that in the future a broadcast program can continue to survive and increase the quality of its broadcast. The competence of the production director consists of three indicators, namely knowledge, skills, and attitudes. The purpose of this study is to determine the competence of the director of Ashiil TV production in improving the quality of the Al-Qur'an tahsin broadcast program. This study used the descriptive qualitative method. The main informants in this study were the production director of Ashiil TV, and the supporting informants were the crew involved in the production of the Al-Qur'an tahsin program, namely the master control room and camera person. Data collection techniques used include interviews, observation, and documentation. This research was carried out from July to September 2021. The results of the research conducted revealed that the competence of the Ashiil TV production director starts from knowledge, namely having a history of education in the field of communication, having experience in the field of work, and a high interest in providing an understanding of the public. Then the skill indicators, which are competent in carrying out tasks, have adequate intellectual abilities, to qualified physical abilities. Finally, the attitude indicator is accepting all input, criticism, and suggestions for the progress of the program and being responsible for carrying out the tasks given. Three competency indicators have been met by the production director of Ashiil TV in improving the quality of the Al-Qur'an tahsin broadcast program.
