Abstract

ABSTRACT Mohammad Haryo B, (2021): Teaching English Using Children Songs : Its Effect on Students’ Listening Comprehension at SMPN 4 Tualang Kabupaten Siak. The aim of this research is to find out how large the effect of children songs in students’ listening comprehension. The research design is quasy – experimental research. The population of this research is the eighth-grade students of SMPN 4 Tualang in academic year 2020/2021. The sample of this research was 30 students that were devided in two classes, experiment class and control class. To collect the data, the researcher used Test and Test of Validity. Technique of Data Analysis the researcher use scores of pre-test and post-test of experimental and control groups. The research finding showed that students’ problems in developing listening comprehension students are not able to recognize the main points in listening task and the students still have difficulties in listening, they have problem of vocabulary or unfamiliar words. In this research, the researcher found teaching English by using children songs had significant effect on students’ listening comprehension.
