Abstract

ABSTRACT Wirdatus Sakinah (2021): The Effect of Using Powtoon Application on Student’s Listening Comprehension in Narrative Text At Eleventh Grade of MA Nurul Iman Rokan Hulu. The use of learning media that is less varied so that there needs to be new variations in the application of learning media that can influence the motivation of students to learn. This study aims to determine the effect size of Powtoon Application on the subjects listening comprehension in narrative text at eleventh grade of MA Nurul Iman. This research is a quantitative research with pre-experimental one group pre-test and post-test. The population in this study is all students of class XI IPS MA Nurul Iman 90 student’s. The sampling technique uses random sampling. The sample in this study were students of class XI IPS 1 and XI IPS 2. This research was carried out using a research design of two sample groups consisting of experimental class and control class. The experimental class was treated with the use of powtoon learning media. Whereas in the control class without using powtoon learning media. The sampling method used a test consisting of 10 questions and a questionnaire consisting of 20 questions with a linkert scale assessment. The results of this study are that there is a very large influence on the use of powtoon learning media in listening comprehension subjects in narrative text. This is evidenced by the results of the eta square test which shows 0.01 (small effect), 0.06 (medium effect), 0.14 (large effect). So it can be concluded that there is a big influence on the use of powtoon learning media on listening comprehension subjects in narrative text, namely 0.88 (big effect).
